Netflix on PS3

Netflix has officially partnered with the PS3 to stream movies and TV shows.

It's apparently exactly like how the Xbox 360 uses the movie service. Here is the link to the news story. Like the Xbox, you will need a paid Netflix subscription. It will launch "next" month, which I hope means November. The big difference is that PS3 users will have to use a disc to stream movies.

Oh, this is where all the PS3 owners get excited, after first saying that Netflix on the Xbox was stupid or useless. Read more to find out about getting the disc.

Here is the link to get the disc. http://www.netflix.com/InstantStreamingDisc. Be warned that the link only works if you're logged into Netflix with your account. Don't have an account? Then why did you click on the link? Get an email update on the PS3 service here: http://www.netflix.com/PS3

I wonder if the interface is different from the 360. Nice addition to the PS3.

Netflix also announced it will begin offering the service overseas next year. Does anyone know what countries are getting it.

@keysy420 - I thought the same thing at first but the store is still good when you want to buy stuff and put it on your psp or ps3. netflix is cool because its movies on demand, streaming only you can't buy anything. I think Sony would have had too much red tape to get a service like that to work using their own video store. Microsoft has netflix and a movie store too and they still co exist. I will definitely be using this since it's one of the primary reasons I was gonna get an xbox anyway. I might cut off cable if its good enough lol.

Oh and I am curious to see if this works with remote play on the psp. I know its a rarely used feature for some people but if it works I will definitely be using it more often (remote play that is). On the flip side I really think that the rumors of Sony charging for PSN in January might be true if in game chat is also true. they have one update for next month and one in January so its looking more likely now than ever. My question is how much will it be and would you pay for it? $20 yes $50 no imo.
