This is great, i wonder whts it's gonna be like but it's sounds like it'll be really fun! Almost always, expanding to online in a game makes it alot better if done right.

I can't decide if i'm happy about it or not.

A game like gow3 dosent need coop or any online mode either. However in this day and age all the big games have online, and people just discard games without any online functionality. I just feel sony threw this in to make it compete in the current market of games.

Men just imagine kill an enemy with an other guy! one cut this leg and the other cut is head! When an enemy to hit ur partener u come and make cover. This will supagreat!!!

They should add a playable secret co-op only character from the Greek mythology manga Saint Seiya as a cool cross promotion.
Probably Dohko or Shaka cause he can fight with his eyes closed!

God of War 3 does not contain any online play.

By definition, I don't think a feature is "official" until it is announced from the products source.

I can't believe a test that does not know that Kratos was a general instead of a soldier and he was on Gaia's back NOT Cronus. I took that test and the info that was put on there was wrong. On top of that Stig himself just had an interview with Gamepro saying how co-op would pull away from the story 10 days ago

GP: The demand for providing some sort of multiplayer in games has grown tremendously over the years. Even franchises like Resident Evil, known predominantly for their single-player content, have integrated multiplayer support to satisfy this demand. Have you guys played at all with the possibility of including a multiplayer mode in God of War 3, maybe with co-op? Or is that something that just doesn't fit?

Stig: Well, why don't I ask you a question? How did it work in Resident Evil 5? Do you think it was better, or do you think they should have stuck to a single-player game?

GP: Well, I thought it took away from the terror, because it's a survival-horror game, and you're supposed to have this overwhelming feeling that your life is on the line. When you have another player who's able to assist you every time you run out of health; that takes away from how scary the game is.

Stig: Hmm, that kind of sets me up for my response, then. I'm a huge Resident Evil fan, but I got two hours into Resident Evil 5, and I wasn't playing multiplayer, either. I stopped playing, which I've never done before. Previously, I've beaten them all. With God of War 3, there's a story we want to tell and an experience we want to deliver, and multiplayer doesn't fit into that.

Does that mean we don't have conversations about multiplayer? No. Of course we have conversations about multiplayer, and there's a lot of things we think about.

Imagine two Kratos characters running around at the same time. Once you do that, the story becomes something more about an experience between two players and less about something that we're scripting.

So, you have something like Left 4 Dead, which is sweet, but we just decided with this game, there's a certain way that we want to tell it. And staying with what we've done in the past, we want to complete the story in a way that was familiar to everybody.

I'm really tempted in buying this but I already have the originals.

That doesnt even make any sense he said he stopped playing Resident Evil 5 because it was co-op yet he thinks Left 4 Dead, which is also a zombie survival game all about the co-op, is a sweet game... what the Hell.....


Anyways multiplayer doesnt have to be part of story mode. They could have a side missions that have nothing to do with the story that are only unlockable after you beat the game

and put in Saint Seiya character like I said. Or Kenshiro.

i read that GOW3 has been set back till may 2010, ive read that heavy rain will be out worldwide on the 12 of February, ive been told that GT5 will be out in japan on march the 24th 2010.

i am a member of the RLS. while it is a site setup to educate those who work for stores that sell videogames (target, best buy, gamestop), about their products. nintendo and m$ has 1 as well. what this guy isnt telling you all is this online coop mode was merely a yes or no question apart of 20 questions that RLS members who have seen the trailers and other info from the website, complete the quiz and we earn points. those points are redeemed in for games, playstation gear, and accessories. i don't even know how this guy was even allowed to take the quiz. it doesn't count if you're not an active member of the RLS anyway.

the question was will GOW 3 have coop modes? and if you've seen the dev diaries, trailers and interviews THERE IS NO ONE from Santa Monica (Sony studios) THAT SAYS A COOP MODE WILL BE IN GOW 3.... at least not to my knowledge. it was a question just testing how much we know about the game. so if YOU answered that particular question with a yes, then your answer would be wrong and you'd have to retake the quiz until you got the correct answers to win the points. lol GOW 3 will not have any online coop modes that we know of and until Sony Santa Monica studios confirm this, you should consider retracting this article. especially if you aren't a member of the RLS.

after taking the quiz myself it was me who has it wrong. apparently there will be some sort of online coop mode. it said when i selected "no" i got the quiz incorrect so you are correct and this article should not be retracted at all. again my apologies you are correct.
