I was just browsing SCEA's Press information website when I noticed something very strange. While looking at the contents, I saw "PS3 Debug Firmware Update 2.80". When I clicked on it to receive the information the following message came up "The file requested do not exist". Looks like PS3 FW 2.80 could be announced any moment now! Keep in mind that is a jump from 2.76 to 2.8- all that will be is a minor fix to "let some titles run smoother" or some such. A jump of .04 won't be bringing any new features.

It might not exist for you because the site is only available to press. Do your research before posting nonsense like that. If this is "fake", then it should not be announced soon right? I would love to hear what you have to say once it is announced.

usually when a number goes up in the tenth place its a big update.. if it was something small they could have went from 2.76 - 2.77 and it can be a bunch of minor stuff all the way to 2.799999 or something like that and when the next big change happens is when the tenth gets replaced like 2.8 i cant wait to see what it is ^_^
